Tsumami Kanzashi is an ancient Japanese art form dating back to the beginning of the Geisha. Squares of silk would be folded into triangles and other shapes to create the elaborate floral hair decorations they wore and still wear today. This version calls for folded squares of double face satin ribbon to create Christmas ornaments. This is the largest of three sizes of angels available. It’s 3-3/4″ high, 2-7/8″ wide (wing span), and 2-1/2″ deep. It takes 18 squares of ribbon to create, not counting the bow and hanger. Adorned with a halo, a bow which may vary from the photos, and beads around the skirt.
